As vision plays a key role in how we interpret a situation, developing vision-based perception for robots promises to be a big step towards robotic navigation and intelligence, with a tremendous impact on automating robot navigation. During this event, the Vision for Robotics Lab (V4RL) headed by Prof. Margarita Chli, which hosts researchers in both ETH Zurich, Switzerland, and the University of Cyprus (http://www.v4rl.com), will showcase some of our most recent advancements in the field.  Join us for interesting discussions and a taste of what is possible today and the challenges we are working on within the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Robot Automation!

The V4RL lab has achieved some of the most highly cited works in the field of aerial robotics, with key world-firsts including the first vision-based autonomous flight of a small drone, and award-winning works, such as the ICRA 2023 Outstanding Automation Paper award. The lab has consistently been collaborating directly with industry partners including Amazon, Unity Labs, Huawei, SBB (Swiss Railway), Hilti, and Armasuisse (Swiss Department of Civil Protection), and has a stellar track record in attracting competitive research funding and bringing innovative ideas to fruition, including the ERC Consolidator Grant (2023) and the Swiss National Foundation Professorship (2015), as well as Amazon Research Awards (both in 2019 and 2020).
