Due to the exceptional circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic which led to the postponement of our 2020 “sCYence Fair”, The Cyprus Institute this year organizes the innovative virtual “sCYence Fair 2021” on 19-24 April 2021, under the auspices of the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, the Chief Scientist of Research and Innovation, and the Municipality of Aglantzia. The event will be entirely online without any physical attendance, and is open to all school science groups, ages 9 -18, from both the private and public sectors. More than one team can participate from the same school with a different presentation.

“sCYence Fair” aims to stimulate scientific interest, encourage participation by young students, and support the next generation of scientists from Cyprus. The event provides an opportunity of our young scientists to increase their awareness of the wonders of science, add to their knowledge, and broaden their scientific horizons.

Students will get the chance todemonstrate online their scientific projects. The  public, will have the chance to  take a virtual tour at The Cyprus Institute’s facilities, attend related webinars, and enter a contest for the best presentation. Participants and visitors will have the opportunity to explore scientific and technological advancements in an entertaining, innovative and interactive manner with online lectures. At the same time, researchers, distinguished scientists and educators will do their best to communicate science. Last but not least, “sCYence Fair” will show to people from all ages and backgrounds that science is not only about knowledge, but can also be recreational and fun.

The full program, details for the visitors, and other updates for the “sCYence Fair 2021” will be postedhere at a later stage.
